Arya Samaj — 150

150 years ago, one man told the whole country: prove it.

It's time someone asked that question again.

Arya Samaj turns 150 this year. We're looking for the people who will carry the next 25.

One man stood alone.

He said that what the country was practising wasn't in the Vedas at all. Show me where it's written. He took on the pandits, the missionaries, the British and the other reformers — all at once, deliberately.

What changed

Widow remarriage. Girls' schools when the idea was thought indecent.

Caste by merit, not by birth. And the people who came out of it: Shraddhanand, Lajpat Rai, Ram Prasad Bismil, the Ghadar Party, Bhagat Singh's own family.

Where we are

Half-empty halls. An average member well over fifty.

Almost nothing online. We're not hiding any of that — it is precisely why we're looking for you.

What we're building

  • A small team, not a crowd — people who can actually build things.
  • A way to find each other, since almost nothing about Arya Samaj exists online today.
  • Programmes worth showing up for, decided with the people who'll attend them.
  • A record of who's willing to give time, and how much, so we stop guessing.

We are not looking for followers.

We're looking for people who can build things — content, technology, law, capital, teaching, events, networks. Having your own career and your own income isn't a problem. It's the requirement.

Before you begin — a word about your details.

You are about to share your phone number and email with people you may not have met. We don't take that lightly, so here is exactly what we will and won't do.

You will not be added to any WhatsApp group or broadcast list. Not now, not later.

No automated emails. No promotional messages. No repeated calls. If we reach out, it will be one person, once, because we've actually read what you wrote.

Your details stay with the small group reviewing these responses. They are never sold, never shared, never passed on to anyone else.

Want your information removed? Write to us at hello@aryasamaj150.org and it's deleted. You don't have to give a reason.

And one request in return: please be honest with us.

If you think Arya Samaj has lost its way, say so. If you find our programmes dull, or the people unwelcoming, or the whole thing irrelevant to your life — write that down. We won't be offended, and it won't count against you.

We are not looking for compliments. We are trying to understand honestly where we stand, and there is no way to do that unless people tell us the truth.

We would far rather hear something uncomfortable today than carry on as we are.
